ORGANISATIONS - Overview
This Framework provides managers with an Organisational Cultural Responsiveness Assessment Scale (OCRAS).. This is a starting point for organisations to assess the current level of cultural responsiveness of their service delivery. The OCRAS is based on the National Cultural Competency Tool for Mental Health Services (2010) which includes eight cultural competency standards for self assessment. The OCRAS assessment scores are then used to guide organisations through the development of a customised organisational action plan.
The Framework's implementation guide contains strategies and outcome indicators at three levels of achievement, and relating to four key outcome areas. It is action-oriented and helps organisations identify what they can do to become more culturally responsive.
